Take This Regret Exclusive Bonus Scene

Thank you so much for reading Christian and Elizabeth’s story in Take This Regret. I have a special bonus scene just for you. Enjoy!

Darkness hugged Elizabeth’s small house as we stepped into the foyer. Lizzie was fast asleep in my arms, exhausted from the trip to New York City where we’d spent Christmas and New Years Eve.

I’d always heard holidays were made of joy and family and love.

I’d never known it until I finally truly understood what family meant.

“Welcome home,” Elizabeth said, glancing back at me as she widened the door.

A smile split my face, and I leaned in to brush my lips across her jaw as I passed, our daughter held in the space between us. “There is no place I’d rather be.”

“Hmm . . . you’d rather be back at this tiny house than back in that penthouse suite you rented for us in New York? If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were trying to spoil me.”

I nudged her with my nose, my hands all wrapped up in Lizzie who didn’t even stir beneath mine and Elizabeth’s quieted voice. “I was spoiling you.” I ran my mouth to her hear. “I plan to spoil you for the rest of your life.”

A giggle pulled from her, and she headed for the staircase that led to the two bedrooms upstairs. She glanced back at me, adoration written all over her face, even though there was a tease falling from between her lush lips. “Sweet talker.”

God.

I loved her like this. Freed. All those chains that had shackled her giving heart loosed. Now it was just Elizabeth, Lizzie, and me.

A family.

The way we were always supposed to be.

“Sweet, is right,” I told her, watching her sway her hips up the steps as I followed behind her.

Another giggle.

I loved the sound.

Could get lost on it.

Drunk on it.

So much bliss it made it hard to see.

I followed her into the shadows in Lizzie’s room, quietly helped her get Lizzie ready for bed, the two of us tucking our daughter under the covers and kissing her cheeks where she sighed from the depths of sleep. The mood was so different from that night all those months ago when Elizabeth had called for me to help her the night Lizzie had fallen down the stairs.

The air had been riddled with questions. Stifled by hurt and betrayal.

Now it danced.

Like soft, soft lashes of love that brushed across my skin.

Then Elizabeth was threading her fingers through mine, tugging at me gently, the girl so sexy as she looked me with those honeyed eyes. “You’re so gorgeous, Christian,” she whispered as she led me out into the hall.

I let a smirk crawl to my face. “Now who’s sweet talking who?”

She grinned one of those shy grins, and I was reaching out and brushing the pad of my thumb across her lips. “It’s you who’s gorgeous, Elizabeth. You’ve always been the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe I get to be lucky enough to share this life with you. After everything, I am so grateful for you. For your heart.”

I inched closer, backing her into the wall. I pressed my body against hers.

Fire surged.

“For this body,” I murmured at her ear.

“Christian.”

“What do you need?”

“You,” she whispered, melting beneath me, and I was sweeping her from her feet, holding her against me, because I wanted to be the man who would stand for her always. Let her know I’d always be there.

Forever.

I carried her into the room, clicking the door shut behind us.

I tossed her to the bed.

She bounced on it, a giggle rolling free.

Joy.

So much joy.

I worked through the buttons on my shirt, letting my eyes trace her where she lay sprawled out, staring up at me.

Blonde hair all around her.

Trust on her face.

Need in her body.

“What are you grinning at?” I teased her, shucking my shirt.

Her eyes washed over me, deepening with want. “You. You just make me so happy.”

I worked at the buckle on my pants, shoved them down, standing there bare and aching for her. “Undress for me, baby.”

She hooked her bottom lip between her teeth, but she pushed all the way to standing, right in the middle of the bed. The only thing I could see.

Slowly, she rocked, the slowest dance, pulling her shirt over her head, pushing her pants down her legs, kicking them away.

I couldn’t resist, I had to touch, and I dipped down, kissing across her flat belly. She whimpered, drove her hands into my hair, and I was inching down, fingers hooking in her panties, dragging them down those long, long legs.

Revealing this girl. So gorgeous in the shadows.

Mine.

Forever.

How did I ever think she wasn’t everything?

She stepped back and reached around to unclasp her bra. Slowly, she let the straps fall down her arms, her small breasts peaked and pink and driving me mad.

I cupped one, kissed the other.

She moaned a tiny sound.

“I love you, Elizabeth. I love you so much, I can’t stand it. Don’t know how I lived for a second without you.”

I crawled all the way up until I was kneeling on my knees in front of her, Elizabeth staring down, nothing but sheer affection on her face. I traced my hands up her body, and she framed my face in delicate hands. “I love you. I always have. I always will.”

“Good,” I told her, pulling her from her feet and knocking her back onto the bed.

And she laughed. Laughed this sound that penetrated to the middle of me, and I was grinning like a fool when I climbed over her, that grin turning soft when I brushed back her hair, looking down at her as I settled between her thighs. I nudged into her opening, loving the way her lips parted, the way she sighed as I took her.

Possessed her body the way this girl had always possessed my heart.

She dug her fingers into my shoulders, and she was leaning up, teasing me like a temptress when she whispered in my ear, “I’d say better than good.”

A growl ripped free, and I pushed up on my arms.

Took her hard.

Whole.

With all the passion I had.

Prayed she’d always know they weren’t just words.

“You are my everything.”

She gasped as I rocked into her, filling her again and again. She touched my chest, my face, clinging to me in a way she never had.

“I’ll never regret it.” The words rasped from between her swollen lips. “Never. Not for a moment. Not the pain or the loss or the hurt. As long as it means I got to end up right here, with you. I’ll never regret you.”
